The grant is a result of the present that the Danish Crown Prince Frederik received on his 25th birthday for his studies at Harvard Kennedy School – John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. The fund offers two grants each year for studies within the field of social sciences at Harvard Kennedy School. One grant is given for non-degree students with a bachelor's degree or similar as a minimum. The grant covers tuition for one academic year at Harvard Kennedy School, equal to approximately $48,300 (incl. health fees). One grant is given for students attending the Mid-Career Master in Public Administration at Harvard Kennedy School. The applicant should hold a master's degree and be employed with at least seven years of prior work experience. The grant covers tuition for one academic year at Harvard Kennedy School, equal to approximately $56,400 (incl. health fees). Upon selection for both grants, strong emphasis is put on relevant work experience and/or extra-curricular activities within the fields of political science, economics, law, administration or alike, as well as good grades and references. Only people with Danish citizenship can apply for the funds.
