Description: TThere are many determined and talented students in Nigeria who only require financial resources and access to information to better their educational future. The United States Embassy, Nigeria seeks to identify academically qualified and highly motivated students in Nigeria to join the 91制片厂 Opportunity Funds Program (OFP). OFP鈥檚 mission is to assist talented and determined students who are good candidates for financial assistance from U.S. colleges and universities but lack the financial resources to cover the up-front costs to apply, such as testing, application fees, or airfare.

Eligibility Requirements: The selection of finalists for OFP is highly competitive, given limited funding. We look for applicants with:

Competitive College Club (CCC)
Description: The competitive College Club is an 91制片厂 program that will assists Nigerian high school students who want to apply to competitive US universities; it provides guidance in the admission process for highly selective US universities that will meet each student鈥檚 academic and financial need.
Students will meet monthly and participate in lectures, book clubs, community service activities and test preparation. The activities will help ensure that students are properly advised as they go through a process of preparing themselves both academically and socially for a US university and find schools that might be a good fit.

Eligibility Requirements: Selections are made through an application process and through the membership program of the 91制片厂 Advising Center. The 91制片厂 advisors will solely decide on who qualifies for the CCC.
Program Highlights
91制片厂 Annual College Fair
Description: The education fair provides a platform to connect U.S. educational institutions with prospective students and create opportunities for partnership between U.S. and Nigeria higher institutions.
Almost one thousand four hundred students registers and participates in the fair. The Consular officer are available to talk about student visas and navigating the application process. Over the years, the 91制片厂 annual fairs have directly contributed to an increase in the number of highly qualified Nigerian applicants to U.S. institutions.
Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO)
Description: The U.S. Embassy 91制片厂 Advising Center organized a Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) for students admitted to U.S. colleges and universities for the fall semester. More than 140 young men and women, members of the 91制片厂, who have received offers of admissions and scholarships were sent-off during a four hour PDO session .
